Bryant double basses have established a reputation for quality and value for money, and are played in many leading orchestras in Britain and abroad, as well as for jazz and solo playing.

 

Since there comes a time in everyone's life when we must find something less strenuous to do, I don't plan on taking any more orders for new instruments.  My wife Liz and I hope to spend more time narrowboating, which was the reason we moved up to the West Midlands a few year ago.

 

 

During my double bass making career I have made a great variety of bass models, as one can see from my archive pages, however, for my last few basses, which I will make at my leisure, I intend to concentrate on my John Lott model, the classic ' English' bass which has been my favourite for many years and has proved popular with both orchestral and Jazz musicians. These basses will be made in the classic Lott style with fine, usually Baker, machines and brass plates,  they will be made infrequently, due to my advancing age and busy retired lifestyle, but I hope to have two available this year (2012), one in the not too distant future
