George Panormo model cica 2001. I am selling this bass for a customer who is retiring and moving abroad. This bass is fitted with a Roger Dawson fingered extension, and an adjustable bridge, making it a great orchestral package for what is, in the double bass world, very little money.

Made in the style of Gasparo da Salo this double bass has a flat back of English poplar, sides of plain grain maple and a front of open grain Sitka spruce, also featuring double purfling.
The head and neck are of well figured maple, topped with a fine set of “Baker” machines.
English double bass makers have long followed the path of the Brescian makers, notably da Salo and Maggini, as seen in the basses of Fendt, john Betts and Thomas Kennedy.

John Lott model - Sold
This is a ¾ size orchestral instrument closely modeled on a bass by John Lott, the king of English double bass making. A flat back bass with the characteristic high back angle. A well proportioned instrument with a body length of 113cm (44.5") and a string stop of 105cm (41.4") A very playable bass.
This bass has a back and sides of well figured maple, it is shown fitted with Valvet strings, it is now however fitted with Thomastik Belcanto strings.
The instrument is covered with golden brown oil varnish.
