Bryant double basses have established a reputation for quality and value for money, and are played in many leading orchestras in Britain and abroad, as well as for jazz and solo playing.

These basses are made entirely by hand using traditional methods and tools  I have no outworkers, no parts bought in from China, and no basses bought in the white and varnished; all of my basses are made by just me working alone. I only use oil varnish, usually a medium brown or red- brown colour; they are fitted with heavy brass machines, and heavy English pattern end pins.

Bryant basses are very affordable and offer superb value for the serious student or professional bass player.  No deposit is required to order one; just a genuine commitment to purchase the instrument if it meets your requirements.  Waiting times vary depending on work in hand.

 

After a very enjoyable few years, which have gone by all too quickly, and with some 90 plus basses completed, the time has now come to announce my retirement from full time double bass making, and maybe move on to something less strenuous.

That said, I sill have some basses in stock, and I am sure I will be unable to resist the urge to make a few more, maybe one or even two a year, after nearly 35 years making stringed instruments it becomes almost second nature.

 

Throughout my career, I have always tried to help the young player on a budget trying to break into the profession, with good reliable instruments at an affordable price.

To this end I always try to be as flexible as I can with my terms of payment. I am always willing to discuss extended payment terms, I have done this for more than a few young players, and even a few well established ones, and have only been let down once.
